And in just as positive a fashion, when foot pressure is released from the treadle, current is instantaneously discontinued. Once the foot releases pressure on the treadle, the electrical circuit is opened, and current stops. This one will serve you well. Cord and plug are excellent condition momentary on heavy duty footswitch.

There is no vagueness or mushiness in the actuation of the switch. When the treadle is pressed and for exactly as long as it is pressed the circuit closes and current energizes whatever load is plugged in.

Listing is for one of my personal treasures from my own darkroom Simmon Omega cat. Of course, the treadle could be actuated by hand or knee as well as by foot. The switch itself weighs just shy of three pounds, which gives a good indication of its robust construction and durability.

The footswitch has a relatively heavy spring, so a deliberate and purposeful foot press actuates r, white light, etc. Electrically and mechanically this footswitch is as new. Electrically, this switch is rated 125vac and 10 amps.

Both of these require fine and precise control of light for relatively brief duration perfect scenarios for a high quality momentary on switch. By now, these original Omega foot switches have become rare to encounter. The only thing I might consider is scraping the old dried cork from the bottom, and relining with new cork, rubber, etc.

I used the switch for dodging and burning, and for controlling the white light in battier printing.
